China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) is a national key university directly under the direct control of the Ministry of Education and one of the first batch of universities under the National 211 Project construction. Our university is one of the earliest institutions to carry out trenchless engineering research in China. In 2007, we jointly established the Sino-US joint trenchless Engineering Research Center with trenchless Engineering Research Center (TTC) of Louisiana Technical University, Underground Facilities Research and Education Center (CUIRE) of the University of Texas and Purdue University. Under the leadership of Professor Ma Baosong and Professor Wu Xiaoming, the Sino-US Joint trenchless Engineering Research Center has made remarkable achievements: it has carried out extensive international exchanges and cooperation, so that keeping our research at the forefront of the world and leading the development of trenchless technology in China; Strengthening the cooperation between universities, government and the engineering community, so that the research results and development plans of the center are closely focused on the urgent needs of the engineering community, and have a certain foresight; The formation of a multidisciplinary research team, making experts in different fields work together to develop new trenchless engineering technology; The theories of trenchless engineering were perfected and the practical problems in the application of trenchless engineering were effectively solved. It has promoted the spread and development of trenchless technology in China, and passed the latest and most advanced trenchless engineering technology to the relevant units.
The trenchless engineering research team of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) has undertaken a large number of scientific research and engineering projects, such as the current national industry standard preparation project "Urban Drainage Pipe trenchless repair and renewal engineering Technical Regulations", the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development project "Municipal public Facilities Operation safety and Maintenance Management Evaluation standard System"; Independently developed China's first trenchless drilling navigator with independent intellectual property rights, "trenchless guidance measurement and control simulation software" and LG plant gum patented products for trenchless directional drilling, these achievements have been applied to relevant industries across the country.
The experts, scholars and professors of our university have also made great contributions to the cultivation of talents in the field of trenchless engineering in China. For the first time, the subject branch of "trenchless Engineering" was proposed and elaborated systematically. Since 2004, the systematic undergraduate course "trenchless Engineering" and the postgraduate course "trenchless Engineering Theory and Technology" have been set up in China. It has promoted the academic level in the field of trenchless engineering and promoted the cultivation of talents in this field.
